Are you thirsty? Become a Laid Down Lover

"Everyone who thirsts comes to the waters..." (Isaiah 55:1)

Are you thirsty, or are you complacent and satisfied with your walk with God? The waters are full of life, and Holy Spirit can regenerate and transform us in that place of desperation, hunger and thirst.

We must become laid down lovers of Jesus, as Heidi Baker calls and exemplifies it. I painted this piece, Laid Down Lover, after spending a day with Heidi and witnessing in her the depth of intimacy God desires with us.

The following testimony update increases my faith in how the Lord responds when we are thirsty for more relationship with Him and are willing to "go for it."

Thrilling Testimony Update

In June's newsletter I shared about a woman's great transformation after receiving prayer breaking off word curses against her creativity and releasing her to flow in the fullness of God's creativity in her life. I did not even know her name so I was secretly hoping that the recipient of the prayer would get my newsletter and give her report of what happened that night and since then.

I was overjoyed when Lisa emailed me and said, "That's me!" She went on to describe all the incredible things that have happened since then. She has given her permission for me to share them with you now:

"The afternoon of May 17, the first night of the Healing of the Broken Hearted Conference with Gary and Kathi Oates, I discovered your art and read your testimony [online]. This phrase caught my attention: 'And suddenly there was the outflow of creativity to now allow me to impart creativity and help people tear down the walls that have kept them from pursuing the gift that brings them hope and life.'

"I knew that you had something that I did not have, and in my heart, I hoped that I may meet with you someday so that you could pray for me to break the "constriction" I was battling with since I had gotten saved, and for that release of creativity to flow.

"I didn't even notice that your itinerary said that you would be at the conference. But during worship that night, I started thinking about you again, and as I opened my eyes, I looked towards the front left side of the conference room, and there you were painting! I couldn't believe it! I knew that this was a divine appointment.

"I have had a breakthrough in creativity since that night and I have started 4 new paintings with a visual impression from the Lord for each one, and I have been able to complete 5 paintings that had been on hold for months and even some for a over a year without a release or direction as how to finish them until you prayed for me--then it just flowed!

"I've also had a release from the Lord to begin the website I've had in my heart for a couple years that will have some poetry that the Lord gave me during a time of healing from depression in Oct. 2005. I hope that the website will be a testimony of the love of the Father."

Lisa also shared that she has had a wonderful breakthrough for restoration with her mother.

I love to hear your stories of how art or prayer for a creative release has changed your life in some way. Please share them with me at janice@jvcartworks.com with your approval to share with others. There is great power and freedom in your testimony.
